Role description
We are seeking a hands-on BMS Project Manager to take ownership of delivering Building Management System (BMS) projects from end to end. The ideal candidate will have experience in BMS, HVAC controls, or electrical systems and be confident managing projects through every stage - from planning and coordination to installation, commissioning, and final handover.
This role is ideal for someone with practical experience who enjoys being closely involved in the technical and operational aspects of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Project Management: Lead BMS projects through all phases, including planning, resourcing, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Technical Oversight: Conduct site surveys, review specifications and drawings, and ensure technical solutions are correctly implemented on site.
- Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring clarity, responsiveness, and a high standard of service.
- Team Coordination: Organise internal engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet project deadlines and maintain quality standards.
- Procurement & Materials: Oversee ordering of equipment and materials, ensuring availability in line with project timelines.
- Budget & Schedule Management: Track project progress against budget and schedule, taking corrective action where needed to ensure delivery objectives are met.
- Site Supervision: Attend site regularly to oversee works, resolve technical or operational issues, and support the delivery team.
- Handover & Documentation: Ensure commissioning records, O&M documentation, and training are completed accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Background: Strong knowledge of BMS, electrical systems, or HVAC controls.
- Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in project delivery roles within BMS or related M&E environments.
- Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with BMS platforms such as Trend, Tridium, Schneider, or Siemens.
- Ability to interpret control schematics, electrical drawings, and HVAC layouts.
- Organisation: Strong planning and multitasking ability with an eye for detail.
- Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with project management tools is beneficial.
- Licence: Full UK driving licence required.
