Coder is building out its international People function ahead of the launch of our London entity this summer. This is a foundational hire: you’ll be the first dedicated People Operations presence in the UK, responsible for running the day-to-day employee experience for our London team and employees across our Employer of Record (EOR) relationships globally. You’ll work closely with our US-based HR Manager, who owns the broader People strategy, and our HR Coordinator, who handles domestic admin, but you’ll be the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for anything international. As our London entity matures, this role is expected to grow into the People Lead for the UK and EMEA.

What you’ll do here:

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employees in the UK and across EOR arrangements.
  • Own offer letter generation, contract administration, and onboarding workflows for international hires, including navigating country-specific requirements.
  • Administer employee benefits across EOR providers; identify gaps and make recommendations as we transition to a direct London entity.
  • Support entity setup this summer by working with legal, finance, and our HRBP to build a compliant UK employment infrastructure from the ground up.
  • Be the internal expert on UK employment law from contracts, right to work, statutory leave entitlements, termination requirements, and any country-specific norms.
  • Advise the HR Manager and People leadership on international compliance matters, proactively flag risks.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment regulations across our active EOR countries.
  • Manage international employee data and workflows in Rippling and/or Deel.
  • Ensure data integrity across HRIS systems; support audits and reporting.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for how we onboard, administer, and offboard international employees.
  • Resolve employee questions on benefits, policies, leave, and pay.
  • Partner with the HR Coordinator to divide and streamline administrative work across the team.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years in HR/People Operations, with meaningful time focused on UK and/or international employment.
  • Hands-on experience with Rippling and/or Deel.
  • Solid, working knowledge of UK employment law; familiarity with EOR models and their limitations.
  • Comfortable being autonomous, and the only People person in the room in London.
  • Detail-oriented enough to catch a contract error before it ships, and strategic enough to know when to elevate.
  • Extremely collaborative - this role works closely with a US-based team across time zones.

Bonus tacos if you have:

  • Experience supporting a company through a legal entity launch.
  • Exposure to EMEA employment law beyond the UK.
  • Background in a high-growth startup, ideally in a technical or SaaS environment.
