As Coder's first EMEA-based Senior Accountant, you’ll be a key member of Coder’s Controllership team, with a primary focus on our UK entity. This role matters because you keep local accounting operations accurate, the close on track, and statutory requirements covered as we grow internationally. You’ll run day-to-day entity accounting, work closely with Controllership, and coordinate with external advisors and accountants as needed. You’ll partner with Finance and cross-functional teams to keep reporting clean, controls practical, and compliance on time.

What you’ll do here:

  • Serve as a Controllership team representative in EMEA, with primary responsibility for the day-to-day accounting operations of the Coder UK entity.
  • Own or coordinate core monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for the UK entity, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, intercompany activity, and reporting support.
  • Partner with third-party accounting firms and advisors, potentially including BDO, to support bookkeeping, statutory filings, local compliance, and other in-country accounting requirements.
  • Ensure accounting records, supporting documentation, and reporting processes meet local statutory and regulatory requirements in the UK and, over time, broader EMEA needs.
  • Act as the local point of contact for external audits, statutory audits, and compliance-related requests tied to the UK entity.
  • Work closely with the global controllership team to align local accounting treatment with company-wide policies, close timelines, and internal controls.
  • Support intercompany processes, cash activity, invoicing flows, and other operational accounting needs tied to a global parent-subsidiary structure.
  • Help improve processes as we scale, with an eye toward accuracy, timeliness, and clear ownership across internal teams and external partners.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong accounting experience in the UK, with hands-on knowledge of local statutory requirements, financial reporting obligations, and entity-level compliance.
  • Experience managing accounting for a UK subsidiary of a global company or working in a multinational environment with cross-border reporting needs.
  • Solid understanding of monthly close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, intercompany accounting, and operational accounting fundamentals.
  • Experience working directly with external accountants, auditors, or outsourced finance partners.
  • Ability to operate independently in-region while staying tightly aligned with a global controllership organization.
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and a practical approach to building reliable processes.
  • Clear communication skills and comfort working across time zones with finance and non-finance partners.
  • Based in London or able to work closely with the London market and UK entity requirements.

Bonus tacos if you have:

  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Experience supporting statutory audits and year-end financial statement preparation.
  • Familiarity with working alongside firms such as BDO or other outsourced accounting providers.
  • Experience in a high-growth software or SaaS company.
  • Broader exposure to EMEA entity support beyond the UK.
  • Experience with ERP systems, close management tools, and improving finance processes in a scaling environment.

Team and scope:

This role sits within Controllership and works closely with Finance. The initial focus is the Coder UK entity, with potential to support broader EMEA accounting needs over time. This is a senior individual contributor role with meaningful ownership in-region and a clear path to grow into Accounting Lead, EMEA as our international footprint expands. You’ll be the in-region accounting partner, working with internal stakeholders and external firms to keep day-to-day accounting operations running smoothly.
