Codec is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (Contract) to manage the successful delivery of multiple client projects in parallel. This role requires strong ownership, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to deliver complex business application projects to agreed scope, budget, and schedule within a consulting environment. This role will require 3-4 days per month onsite in Liverpool every month. The successful contractor will act as the single point of accountability across assigned projects, working closely with customers, internal delivery teams, and the PMO to ensure high-quality outcomes. The role requires experience delivering projects using agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery models.
Key Responsibilities- Manage multiple projects or project workstreams concurrently.
- Own end-to-end project delivery from pre-sales through to operational support.
- Act as the primary point of contact and accountability for assigned projects.
- Maintain accurate project data, planning, forecasting, and reporting within Codec’s PM tool (Projector).
- Deliver projects to agreed scope, budget, and schedule, applying formal change management where required.
- Identify, manage, and resolve inter-dependencies across projects.
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed project plans and schedules.
- Proactively manage RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) and implement mitigating actions.
- Report project status and progress in line with PMO governance and organisational standards.
- Produce accurate project cost estimates and support financial tracking.
- Achieve defined PMO quality gates and governance checkpoints.
- Manage project milestones, deliverables, and resources effectively.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional delivery teams.
- 5+ years’ experience in a Senior Project Manager or Project Manager role.
- Recognised Project Management qualification (PRINCE2 Practitioner and/or PMP).
- Proven experience delivering business applications projects within large enterprise organisations.
- Background in IT consulting or professional services environments.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering projects to time, cost, and quality commitments.
- Experience managing cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Project.
- Experience delivering projects using agile, waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.
- Experience with ERP (Microsoft Business Central) and/or CRM / Workflow (Microsoft Dynamics) projects is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience using Projector is preferred but not mandatory.
- Agile based project delivery with emphasis on sprint planning and management.
- Results-driven with a strong focus on delivery.
- Excellent planning, organisation, and multi-tasking capability.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.
