In a period of growth and looking to bolster our software engineering capabilities, we're seeking an experienced Unreal Engine Engineer to join our team on a freelance/contract basis. This role is all about multiplayer, networking, and crossplay, the backbone of truly connected gameplay. It offers the chance to make an impact on exciting cross-platform projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and optimise multiplayer systems in Unreal Engine.
- Deliver crossplay functionality across multiple platforms.
- Work on both client-side and server-side features.
- Collaborate with internal and external engineers to ship great features.
- Debug, test, and improve online gameplay performance.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Deep hands-on experience with Unreal Engine (C++ & Blueprints).
- Proven track record with multiplayer networking & crossplay.
- Experience with backend tech, ideally Nakama or similar.
- Strong understanding of online systems, client/server architecture.
- Background in the games industry.
- Comfortable working independently and thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
