We are pleased to be recruiting a structural engineer on behalf of an established and very busy civil structural consultancy in Wigan working on a variety of interesting projects across sectors including residential, education, and commercial, ranging from simple design structures to large multi-storey structures.

As a Structural Engineer, you will work with two very experienced directors and other more junior engineers as part of a growing team. There will be good opportunities for career progression and to gain chartership.

About you and the role

  • You will be a structural engineer with 3+ years of structural design experience, ideally in a client-facing/consultancy environment
  • Structural design to all relevant standards and European Codes
  • Producing preliminary design solutions
  • Producing detailed designs, calculations, and specifications
  • Design in all forms of construction including steelwork, concrete, masonry, and timber, under the supervision of a Senior Structural Engineer
  • Assistance with site inspections
  • Proficient in design software such as TSD, Tedds, Etabs, etc.
