We are working with a highly respected multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong track record in commercial, retail, and infrastructure projects. With a team of around 80 MEP engineers across the UK, in-house BIM expertise, and a dedicated Sustainability function, the business is financially strong and planning to double its Manchester MEP team over the next 12–18 months. This is a great opportunity to join a growing, collaborative, and client-focused environment.
The Role: As a Senior / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead and deliver high-quality mechanical design solutions for a variety of commercial office, retail, and infrastructure projects. You will work closely with clients and the wider design team, overseeing both design and surveying aspects of projects. The role offers a hybrid working pattern (3 days in the office), opportunities for client engagement, and involvement in the growth of the Manchester team.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in mechanical design within MEP consultancy or related engineering environment
- Strong client-facing and project management skills
- Experience across commercial office projects, with some exposure to retail and infrastructure
- Proven ability to work on design and site surveying/commissioning tasks
- Flexible, collaborative approach, comfortable working in a growing team environment
Competitive salary up to £70,000 + £3–4k car allowance
Annual performance bonus (paid consistently over the last 5 years)
Hybrid working and flexible arrangements
