We are recruiting a highly competent and professional Security Patrol and Response Officer to join our Patrol and Response Team. In this role, you will conduct targeted and responsive patrols to support our clients across a range of functions, including lock-up duties, proactive estate patrols, lone-worker support, and alarm response. Patrol and Response Officers are key frontline team members and report to the Regional Operations Officer. You will typically be vehicle-based, deploying from Salisbury, and carrying out various duties throughout a typical 12-hour shift.
The ideal candidate will inspire confidence and authority, demonstrate high levels of professionalism, and possess the ability to remain calm, proportionate, and decisive, often under pressure.
Responsibilities- Proactively patrol assigned premises, both internally and externally.
- Conduct lock-ups and alarm-setting procedures in line with assignment instructions, ensuring all doors, windows, and access points are secure.
- Promptly challenge trespassers and ensure their safe removal, reporting all incidents thoroughly and professionally.
- Respond proactively and promptly to support colleagues and react to observed threats, incidents, or alarm activations.
- Investigate suspicious persons, vehicles, or activity, sharing intelligence with colleagues, HR, management, and police partners as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records, including detailed incident reports and evidence logs.
- Where necessary and lawful, detain and arrest individuals, and liaise with police to preserve evidence, provide statements, and support investigations.
- Assist stakeholders, clients, and colleagues professionally and courteously.
- Act as an ambassador for the Company, maintaining excellent standards of driving, presentation, and behaviour at all times.
- Frontline SIA Licence (Security Guarding, Door Supervision, or Close Protection).
- Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 3 penalty points.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Proven experience as a security officer.
- Confidence and competence in report writing.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Applicants should note that a frontline SIA licence and a full UK driving licence (with no more than 3 penalty points) are mandatory for this role. All candidates must complete full screening and vetting before an Offer of Employment can be made.
Code 9 Security offers a Living Wage Guarantee based on the recommendations of the Living Wage Foundation and local living wage initiatives. Successful applicants can expect to earn £30,500 per annum, assuming a 40‑hour working week. We offer generous paid leave, including additional leave for members of the military reserve forces and the Special Constabulary.
This role is based on a 4‑day on, 4‑day off shift rotation.
