The predicted salary is between 40000 - 60000 £ per year.

We are seeking a Technical Author with good infrastructure experience. This will be on a contract basis for initially a couple of months (OSIR35). It will require someone who is proactively working with Global teams to collaborate with infrastructure areas and has good communication skills to also work with senior technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for infrastructure and network systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to gather detailed technical information and translate it into clear, concise documentation.
  • Write and update presentations for Exec level, policy documents, HLD/LLD, system architecture guides.
  • Ensure all documentation is clear, consistent, and aligned with company standards.
  • Create diagrams, flowcharts, and visuals to help explain complex systems and processes.
  • Conduct reviews to ensure accuracy and maintain quality across all technical content.
  • Tailor content to suit various audiences, including engineers, end-users, and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience required:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer with expertise in Infrastructure and Network technologies.
  • Infrastructure areas include: Commvault backup, Cisco Networking/wireless, Azure Local (HCI Stack), Server Hardening.
  • Requires someone who can adapt work for different audiences including non-technical senior stakeholders (i.e. high-level presentations).
  • Needs to turn conversations or diagrams into High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), or policy documents without being spoon-fed.
  • Comfortable navigating things like SharePoint, Visio, Confluence to gather information or test understanding.
  • Experience with technical writing tools (e.g. Confluence, JIRA, and similar platforms).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure).
  • Ideally some knowledge of ServiceNow (as workflows will be created within ServiceNow).
