Responsibilities
- Providing strong leadership, guidance, and supervision to the care team.
- Deputising for the Registered Manager in their absence.
- Ensuring the home meets all regulatory and Ofsted requirements, safeguarding procedures, and quality standards.
- Overseeing care planning, risk assessments, and ensuring a child-centred approach.
- Contributing to recruitment, induction, performance management, and staff development.
- Leading audits, quality assurance activities, and supporting inspection preparation.
- Working in partnership with placing authorities, social workers, and other professionals.
Qualifications
- Substantial experience in a children's residential setting, with a proven track record in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
- Experience in care planning, safeguarding, and risk management.
- Demonstrable leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards) is required.
- A full UK driving licence.
