Overview
Coco Coders is an online coding school for children aged 6-14. We inspire kids to learn the language of the future through creatively themed coding lessons online, through our STEM.org certified computing curriculum, teaching them core coding principles and how to apply these to real world settings. We are looking for energetic UK teachers who can encourage our students to collaborate with each other, be creative, and help shape the thinkers of tomorrow.
Role
Our teachers are positive and energetic individuals, who come from a range of backgrounds and experience levels, but the one thing they have in common is they are all passionate about teaching. Lessons last 60 minutes and all lesson plans are provided, created by our internal team. This is a contractor position.
Requirements
- Are infectiously enthusiastic, ready to inspire children
- Have an interest in technology and coding
- Are technologically proficient
- Are confident working with children aged 6-14
- Are able to break down complicated subjects into easy to understand concepts
- Are adaptable and able to think on your feet
- Are available for evening and/or weekend hours
- Are available 5-15 hours a week
- Currently live in the UK
Other desirable, but not essential skills
- Coding knowledge or a computer science qualification
- Special educational needs and disability experience
- Teaching qualification / experience within classroom setting
- Knowledge of lesson delivery
- Online tutoring / teaching experience
- Enhanced DBS checked
