Cochrane is a global, independent network of health practitioners, researchers, patient advocates and others, responding to the challenge of making vast amounts of research evidence useful for informing decisions about health. We do this by synthesising research findings to produce the best available evidence on what can work, what might harm and where more research is needed. Our work is recognised as the international gold standard for high quality, trusted information. Though we are spread out across the globe, our shared passion for health evidence unites us and it is important that the role holder can work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse range of contacts across the world.
Our Central Executive Team supports this work and is divided into three directorates.
This role reports to the Editorial Policy and Publishing Ethics Manager and sits within Policy and Research Integrity team in Cochrane’s Evidence Production and Methods Directorate.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Manage and coordinate research integrity cases, ensuring timely and consistent handling in line with organisational policies.
- Assess potential breaches of publication ethics and research integrity, working with editors, authors and institutions to investigate concerns.
- Provide expert guidance on research integrity and publication ethics issues to internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor, record and report on research integrity cases, identifying trends and recommending improvements to processes and policies.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of research integrity initiatives, training and best practice guidance across the organisation.
The successful candidate is expected to have:
- Degree in relevant field or equivalent.
- Strong understanding and experience of academic publishing in the Science, Medicine and Technology sector, including editorial and publishing processes.
- Experience of research integrity issues and cases.
- Understanding of the importance of systematic reviews to clinical or policy decision making.

- A flexible work environment which includes remote-first working (although you will be required to attend in person meetings from time to time, depending on your location and the needs of the role)
