Function: Supply Chain

Location: Knockmore Hill, Lisburn

Contract: Permanent

Responsible for managing all activities involved in the Engineering & maintenance of your area. Including co-ordinating of all maintenance activities ensuring the production processes run reliably and efficiently with a strong emphasis on preventative maintenance. Demonstrating leadership and commitment through development and execution of continuous improvement strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for health, safety and well-being to deliver a safety-first culture.
  • Motivate and inspire maintenance team by creating an environment that promotes positive communication, encourages co-operation and collaboration.
  • Lead and develop the maintenance team through consistent approach to Coaching, Performance Management, and feedback to drive a strong high-performance culture within the team.
  • Develop training matrix for each team member, set timely objectives and conduct monthly 1 2 1’s.
  • Collaborate with production and quality to deliver KBIs.
  • Organise and oversee annual overhauls.
  • Lead company initiatives to improve equipment reliability.
  • Provide high level technical, engineering support and innovative solutions to production plant, auxiliary equipment, systems, and spares to support improvements in manufacturing performance.
  • Planning and overseeing the quantity and quality of work carried out by the maintenance team and appointed contractors.
  • Ensure the content of the planned maintenance program is adequate and executed to maximise on plant up time and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure that systems are in place for tracking equipment performance and that clear accountabilities are identified.
  • Create an environment that challenges existing practices and seeks to generate or adopt Best in Class practices.
  • Weekly reporting on team KPIs identifying and addressing key issues.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • To ensure compliance with quality standards, conduct quality checks and keep records.
  • Operate company IT systems, record and update data as required.

Qualifications

  • Recognised qualification in Electrical engineering.
  • Proven experience of people management and development, building strong succession pipelines within your team.
  • Experience of managing a multidiscipline department.
  • Ability to form effective working relationships across all layers of the organisation and with external organisations in order to deliver results.
  • Strong relationship & communication skills with the ability to challenge and influence others.
  • Proven track record in delivering against Maintenance KBIs.
  • IT literate with effective skills in Powerpoint, Excel and ideally SAP.
  • Strong problem solving with root cause analysis to determine clear corrective action plans.
  • Detailed knowledge of manufacturing equipment, and of safety requirements in the maintenance and repair of the machinery.

Desired Criteria

  • 3 years recent and relevant experience of leading and managing a maintenance engineering team within a manufacturing environment.
  • Third Level qualification, ideally business/engineering/supply chain related.
  • Experience of leading cross function projects that affect the entire organisation.
  • Previous experience in FMCG manufacturing environment.
