ABOUT YOUR NEW JOB
The role is a key business partner that will provide business insights and commercial support across a range of customers, new business and brands and assist in the Commercial planning process. The role is expected to establish a full understanding of the drivers from Gross Revenue, Net Revenue and to Gross Profit across all channels and categories. It is vitally important to be able to correlate financial insight to the commercial activities and to clearly communicate performance indicators to non-finance people. The role involves business partnering with other finance teams and other functions to ensure that commercial business partners are provided with sufficient information to make informed decisions.
YOUR NEW KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Planning & Budgeting
- Key Support Sales, Commercial and Marketing teams in assessing and monitoring key initiatives.
- Supports building capabilities in the Commercial teams to understand the financial impact of the commercial decisions.
- Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Provide Financial analysis and appraisal of pricing, discounts and commercial policy and communicate it to different business partners.
- Support in delivering Month End Reporting pack.
- Control & Compliance
- Ensures strong governance around contract rebates, promotional spend and pricing activities.
- Liaise with External Auditors for both half year and year end on revenue related requirements.
- Participating in the balance sheet reviews and liaise with BSO (Shared Services Centre) colleagues.
- Collaboration & Business Partnering
- Support in the preparation of rolling estimate, annual business planning and monthly forecasting processes.
- Provide finance support to Marketing and Commercial teams in preparing for the monthly performance meeting, providing insights related to discounts and any other factors which impact the Net Revenue and Gross Profit results.
- Process Improvement & Systems
- Leverage new reporting tools and technologies to drive automation, simplification and enhance reporting and insights.
- Ensure continuous business improvements and drive innovation in the management reporting area.
YOUR SECRET INGREDIENTS
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA).
- Knowledge and hands-on experience of SAP (or equivalent ERP system).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and comfortable in challenging the status quo.
- Highly proficient (advanced Excel) & proficient in other Office suite programmes (PowerPoint etc.).
- Previous experience in a commercial facing, finance business partnering role ideally in a promotional control or similar environment.
- Demonstrated ability to influence other stakeholders.
- Comfortable in making firm recommendations based on sound, logical reasoning.
- Clear desire to progress within the organisation.
