Provide analysis and lead continuous improvement initiatives in the area of utilities to support CCHBC on our journey to be industry leaders in efficiency and sustainability. This will include understanding and supporting 24/7 operations and management of utilities including boreholes, water treatment, boilers, cooling towers and power including sustainable energy sources.
YOUR NEW KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure safe, compliant and reliable operation of utilities required for our Knockmore Hill manufacturing site.
- Supervise and maintain all utilities equipment (Wells, WWT, Boilers Room, Compressors Room, Ventilation, Chillers) and network (Raw Water, cooling/heating circuits, compressed air, gases).
- Coordinate preventive maintenance, corrective and reactive, respecting the recommended technologies and responding to the quality of coordinated interventions.
- Driving analytics and strategy for continuous improvement in utilities.
- Lead development of a sustainability plan with regards to water and energy efficiency.
- Support management with running an efficient 24/7 operation.
- Keeping accurate electronic and paper records to comply with the company’s internal systems, procedures and the local, country-specific rules and regulations.
- Ensure preventive maintenance planning understanding the output requirements of the site.
- Timely submission of internal and external reports.
- Perform and train the team regarding inspections and planned maintenance activities on other equipment, such as absorption chillers, heat recovery steam generators, etc.
- Ensure accuracy of electronic and paper records related to the plant operations.
- Ensure minimising the operating cost both variable and fixed while still operating the plant to the highest standards.
- Ensure CHP water treatment plants comply with all the respective operating licenses and other legal, regulatory and environmental requirements.
- Active interaction with external local and state agencies in a professional manner while representing and protecting the interests of CCHBC.
- Lead and drive problem solving including Root Cause Analysis and corrective action plans.
- Ensure all areas comply with site 5s standards.
- Management of contractors HS management of the services areas including risk assessment and SOP creation.
- Deputise for the IOI services and facilities lead and also the site CHP lead.

- Essential Minimum 3 year experience in utilities engineering including automated boiler systems, water treatment and cooling plants.
- Experience of renewable energy projects and sustainability initiative continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
- Effective organisational and communication skills and computer literacy.
- Ability to work in a fast paced cross functional environment.
- Ability to supervise contractors in the performance of routine services and breakdown maintenance.
- Experience of regulatory standards in Northern Ireland.
Desired
- Lean 6 sigma green belt certification or above.
- Experience of food safety certification standards in a utilities plant.
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment in the maintenance of a modern utilities operation.
- Experience of engineering service systems.
