The Shift Leader will manage all elements of first line management of a production line. Key areas of responsibility include health and safety, people management, quality, customer service, manpower utilisation and productivity to satisfy customer demand within budgeted costs and develop and implement continuous improvement actions across all areas of the business implementing all lean manufacturing principles.
YOUR NEW KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take a leadership role to promote Safety, Quality, Performance, compliance, and Continuous Improvement in all aspects of the business.
- Responsible for the analysis of Quality performance data and corrective action implementation.
- Manage and implement appropriate shift-working practices and schedules to optimize cover across seasonal levels of activity and ensure resourcing covers all required tasks.
- Responsible for achieving and improving all KBIs in cost and performance control including system line efficiency.
- Ensure effective production schedules to maximize efficiency, plant utilization, quality, and customer service.
- Control inventory including full stock and raw materials to defined days holding targets.
- Responsible for ensuring a safe working environment and meet all local employment regulations (hours, OH&S) - demonstrating a safety leadership commitment.
- Responsible for achieving and improving defined operational standards and Good Manufacturing Practice, as well as ensuring compliance to the requirements of ISO14000, OHSAS 18000 and internal standards.
- Efficient management of Environmental resources including water, energy, and waste through application of resource management programs and effective recycling management.

Essential Criteria
- At least 1-2 years FMCG, supply chain management experience.
- Direct responsibility for a cross functional team consisting of both technical and non-technical direct reports and managing Health & Safety and Quality.
- Knowledge of maintenance techniques and experience of managing PM.
- Computer literate - Word, Excel.
- Ability to work shift patterns as required.
Desired Criteria
- Experience in logistics and supply chain management.
- An Engineering Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing).
- Project management experience, knowledge of problem solving techniques such as 6 Sigma (green belt certification), Kaizen, 5 Why, Fishbone and Pareto Analysis.
