Main Purpose of Job: As a Production Operator, you will be a key member of the production team, working across all shifts and departments where your actions will directly impact our overall site performance. To maintain the efficiency of our production lines, you will combine your technical competence with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to lead and initiate change by ownership of the area you will be responsible for. With an ability to adapt to an ever-changing, dynamic manufacturing environment, you will be able to quickly identify and remedy machine errors as they occur.
Main Responsibilities:
- Being responsible for a designated area, driving performance to meet, maintain and exceed quality, food safety, cost, service and safety measures.
- Providing operational control for all elements of running production equipment including set-up, maintenance and cleaning.
- Monitoring, controlling and carrying out fault diagnosis using recognised problem-solving techniques to maintain high levels of uptime of assets.
- Completing site Autonomous Maintenance schedules to high standards to drive equipment reliability.
- Taking responsibility for good manufacturing practice with excellent hygiene and safety standards within the designated area.
- Completing a thorough and effective handover for your designated area, to the oncoming shift.
- Being a key champion for the site continuous improvement program and adopting a 'Run it like you own it' mindset.
- Complying with company policies and procedures.
- Operating company developing IT systems, recording and updating data as required.
Selection Criteria:
Essential:
- 4 GCSEs including Mathematics and English which must be at grade C or above, OR equivalent qualifications.
- 2 years relevant manufacturing experience.
- Flexibility including ability to meet any shift pattern demands of the job.
- Capability to be trained and to develop in a wide range of duties in line with the company's training programme.
- Capability to work as part of a team cross-functionally and achieve results in relation to operational needs.
- Demonstrate passion for quality, efficiency and good customer service internally or externally.
Desired:
- Validated mechanical and maintenance experience.
- Demonstrable experience of machine operation, fault-finding, and repair.
- Logical approach to problem solving, and practical skills on plant equipment.
- Skills in communicating effectively and mentoring/influencing others.
- Able to find opportunities for improvement and implement solutions.
- Previous beverage manufacturing/factory experience.
