ASRS Shift Engineer Location: Sidcup
Shift Pattern: 42 hr Continental Shift (Rotating Days & Nights)

Sidcup Operations plays a pivotal role within the CCEP network, producing around 50% of the GB SKU portfolio. The site offers a one stop shop to the GB Market with a range of packages that are single sourced from Sidcup, such as the wide portfolio range of small cans. Across their 7 manufacturing lines the site can produce 480,000 cans every hour, 96,000 PET bottles every hour and 48,000 Glass bottles. There are currently around 300 employees across Manufacturing, QSE and Engineering, experience here can lead to excellent career opportunities both in Sidcup and further afield across other GB sites and Pan-European locations.
What to Expect in the Role
As an ASRS Engineer, you will play a key part in maintaining and improving automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) and associated warehouse automation. Your work directly ensures system reliability, availability, and performance targets are consistently met while upholding the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely maintain machinery within an automated warehouse environment
- Ensure operational targets for performance, case fill, and CRS are met
- Drive efficiency by providing technical support for product and equipment changeovers and critical cleaning
- Manage and deliver advanced maintenance plans and asset care tasks to meet all KPIs
- Use the Central Maintenance Management System effectively
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, including safety inspections, to keep all warehouse systems fully operational
- Work at height (up to 43m) and participate in the site safety rescue team
- Champion Operational & Functional Excellence by sharing best practices
- Introduce and support continuous improvement projects
- Maintain strict adherence to site safety best practices and zero‑accident behaviour
- Manage work orders, parts and costs via iPad / SAP PM
- Act as a First Aider
- Mentor, coach and develop an operative, playing an active role within the wider supply chain operation
Skills & Essentials
We’re looking for a dual‑skilled Mechanical/Electrical Technician with:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
- Strong industrial environment experience with diagnostics, problem solving and maintenance capability
- Experience working—and rescuing—at height (up to 43 metres)
- Knowledge of machine operation, setup, programming, adjustments, and asset care
Desirable
- Automation & PLC Skills (Allen Bradley / Siemens S7 Motion / Process Control)
- Understanding of PC‑based control systems, WCS, SAP PM/EWM/ECC
- Knowledge of Danfoss / Control Techniques VFDs
- Knowledge of Sick sensors / scanners and SOPAS software
