What you become part of: Edmonton Operations produce 50 million cases of drinks per year across their 7 manufacturing lines. The site can produce up to 142,000 litres of drink every hour consisting of BIB, PET and Glass bottling. As a site, Edmonton is single source production in GB for both Bag In Box and Oasis. The site employs over 200 people across Manufacturing, QESH and Engineering. For the right candidate, there are excellent career opportunities, both within the Edmonton Plant and further afield across other GB and Pan-European locations within the CCEP network.
About the role: As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing the electrical and automation systems within our Edmonton production and warehousing facilities. The Edmonton site has 4 PET bottle lines, a glass bottle line and a syrup bag in box line. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting continuous improvement projects, managing system upgrades, and resolving breakdowns. You will also collaborate closely with technicians, contractors, and external specialists to ensure our site operates efficiently and safely. Please note this role is working 12 hour days and nights on continental shifts.
What you will be doing:
- Electrical Systems: Familiarity with standards related to HV/LV electrical systems. Deep understanding of electrical fault finding to be used across the site. Demonstrate a deep understanding for safe isolations and safety circuits. Owning electrical root cause analysis.
- Automation Systems: Maintain and troubleshoot PLC systems, Siemens S7-300, S7-1200, S7-1500, Allen Bradley SLC and Control Logix. Understand the necessity to keep our software backup system up to date.
What we are looking for:
- To be a time served electrical or dual skilled (electrical mechanical/automation) engineer apprentice with an NVQ3 or equivalent with relevant experience.
- Experience of working as an engineer in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.
- Experience in complex machine breakdowns and fault-finding.
- Ability to work safely either independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to lead, coach, and support on-site technicians and apprentices.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and external contractors.
- Provide support for production, resolving breakdowns, and contribute to achieving site efficiency targets.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Safety PLC systems.
- HNC in electrical engineering/equivalent or higher.
- Experience with HMI/SCADA packages.
- Experience with B R Xenon screens.
