We\’re looking for an experienced Hygiene Manager to join our client, a leading food manufacturing company, and lead the 20 strong team of Hygiene Supervisors, Team Leaders and Operatives in carrying out deep cleaning of production equipment, running production processes, overseeing all work as the senior person on site on shift.
This is an interesting and busy role, biased towards hygiene with some processing responsibility and so reports to the Head of Technical. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organised, with experience leading Hygiene functions in fast-paced manufacturing environments (food production would be a big plus).

You would be based at the company’s Malton factory in North Yorkshire which is a 24hr operation 7 days a week, flexibility with working hours will be required at times.

Responsibilities
– Manage, delegate to, coach, train and motivate your team
– Representing the department when auditors or customers are on site
– Management and control of department budget
– Monitoring departmental KPIs and challenge improvement when required to ensure targets are achieved and improved
– Ensuring all planned hygiene tasks are completed to retailer and BRCGS requirements
– Review the effectiveness and appropriateness of existing cleaning schedules and work with the Technical team and chemicals partner to continuously improve our processes
– Ensuring hygiene standards are met and that the business is compliant with the relevant requirements within Food Hygiene Regulations 852/2004 and 853/2004 and BRC requirements
– Updating and maintaining the Hygiene Management System and records, including training records, process records and cleaning instruction cards (CIC’s)
