Aircraft Engine Performance Engineer
Gas Turbine Engines | Diagnostics | Performance Analysis Basingstoke | Aviation Engineering Are you an experienced
aircraft gas turbine engineer
who enjoys diagnostics and fault-finding, but fancies using that knowledge in a different way? This is a specialist engineering role where you'll analyse
aircraft engine performance data , identify developing trends and help spot potential engine problems before they become bigger issues. It's technical, analytical and genuinely interesting work.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll use specialist monitoring systems and your own engineering knowledge to analyse engine performance and investigate anything that doesn't look right. Day to day, you'll be: Analysing aircraft engine performance and operational data
Carrying out
Gas Path Analysis (GPA)
Monitoring engine trends and investigating anomalies
Identifying potential faults and issuing technical alerts
Providing technical support to aircraft operators
Evaluating and reporting customer engine data
Liaising with customers on technical issues
Working alongside other engineering, operations and IT specialists
Helping ensure a 24/7 engine monitoring service runs effectively
There is also a
remote out-of-hours Duty Manager rota , so you'll periodically provide technical support outside normal working hours.
What We're Looking For
The key thing is a strong understanding of
aircraft gas turbine engines . You could come from aircraft maintenance, engine overhaul, technical services, engine performance, diagnostics or a similar aviation engineering environment. Ideally you'll have: Strong aircraft gas turbine engine knowledge
Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Experience or knowledge of engine trend monitoring
A logical, analytical approach
Confidence interpreting technical data
An Aeronautical Engineering degree, aircraft engineering licence or equivalent practical experience
Previous experience carrying significant technical responsibility
Experience with
Rolls-Royce, GE, Pratt & Whitney Canada or Honeywell engines
would be particularly attractive.
The Opportunity
This could be particularly attractive if you've spent years working hands-on with aircraft engines and want to take that knowledge into a more analytical, technically focused position. You'll still be diagnosing engine problems, but instead of reaching for the tools, you'll be using
data, trends and engineering judgement
to work out what's happening. If you know gas turbine engines and enjoy solving technical problems, we'd like to hear from you. Coburg Banks Limited is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy. TPBN1_UKTJ
