Reporting to the Head Cook at the Care Home and working as part of a small, supportive team, the Kitchen Assistant will play a key role in supporting the residents at the Care Home., To provide high-quality food and service to the residents of Admiral Jellicoe House ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene guidelines.,
- To ensure that all kitchen equipment and kitchen areas are cleaned according to the cleaning schedules.
- To ensure statutory Hygiene, Health & Safety Regulations are adhered to.
- To ensure correct storage of all dry and perishable goods as soon as possible after receipt and checking.
- To assist in the preparation of vegetables when required.
- To ensure the correct, safe storage of cleaning materials.
- To ensure that all pots, pans, cooking utensils and service counter containers are cleaned to the required standards and correctly stored after cleaning.
- To keep dining room cupboards on all floors topped up with provisions and ensuring that all containers are clean, fresh and include a date opened sticker.
- Ensuring all clean crockery and cutlery is returned to the respective floors.
- Ensuring all condiment sets, sauce bottles etc. in relevant dining rooms are kept clean and always topped up.
- To always follow the uniform policy.
- To assist at functions as directed by Head Cook and Home Manager.
- To attend all Statutory Training as required by the Trust.
- To carry out any other reasonable instructions of the Cook on duty.
