Overview

The Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) is the Army's national charity, supporting soldiers, veterans and their immediate families in times of need.

Founded in 1944, our purpose is to provide a lifetime of support to serving soldiers, former soldiers, and their families when they are in need, ensuring they can avoid hardship and enjoy independence and dignity.

The Charity operates a regional structure across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, with its central office in London.

This full-time role is based at the Charity's Office in London, Victoria, 35 hours per week, on a permanent contract.

Team and Role Context

This role sits within the Individual Giving team and forms an essential part of our single largest source of income, Gifts in Wills, which typically generates £3m per annum.

You will be helping to provide stewardship of our supporters to solicit their willingness to leave a gift in their Will and to ensure those that already have remain steadfast and loyal supporters.

You will also share responsibility of Supporter Care with the Individual Giving & Supporter Care Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Provide stewardship of supporters to solicit their willingness to leave a gift in their Will and to ensure those that already have remain steadfast and loyal supporters.
  • Share responsibility of Supporter Care with the Individual Giving & Supporter Care Assistant.
  • Engage with donors and supporters to promote Gifts in Wills and related fundraising activity as part of the Individual Giving team.

Requirements

  • Experience of Supporter Care within a charitable organisation is preferred.
  • A willingness to learn and embrace Gifts in Wills fundraising as a key part of success.

Salary and Benefits

The starting salary is £32,929 per annum.

After a probationary period of 6 months, you will benefit from the Charity's full range of employment benefits including an income protection scheme and an employer contribution pension.

There will also be opportunities to participate in key Charity events and activities with a TOIL scheme in place.
