Overview

We are recruiting for the position of Events Executive (Northern Ireland) at the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF).

ABF is the Army's national charity, supporting soldiers, veterans, and their immediate families in times of need.

Founded in 1944, the charity provides a lifetime of support to serving soldiers, former soldiers, and families to help them avoid hardship and maintain independence and dignity.

The Charity operates a regional structure across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, with its central office in London.

This Events Executive role is based at Thiepval Barracks, Lisburn, and involves supporting, planning and delivering fundraising events; developing and increasing our supporter base; engaging with stakeholders and providing support to our local network of volunteers.

The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, be well organised, and have a confident and approachable manner.

You will work as part of the regional team and collaborate with local corporate entities, civic administrations, high net worth individuals, local trusts, and charitable organisations, as well as with Army and Army Cadet Force units.

This is a full-time post for 35 hours per week, on a permanent contract based at the Charity\'s Office in Thiepval Barracks, Lisburn.

The Charity currently operates a minimum of 2 days in the office.

Ability to be flexible with working patterns.

A driving license is essential.

Be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Possess effective communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills.

Literate and numerate with good office practice experience.

IT literacy with understanding of social media tools is desirable.

An understanding of the British Army and the charity sector is desirable.

A strong empathy with the charity\'s cause and beneficiaries.

The starting salary is £35,311 per annum.

After a probationary period of 6 months, the successful candidate will benefit from the Charity\'s full range of employment benefits including an income protection scheme and an employer contribution pension.

There will also be opportunities to participate in key Charity events and activities with a TOIL scheme in place.
