Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist with a background in gas and power trading to join our Commercial team. The successful candidate will leverage data-driven insights to shape business decisions and drive operational excellence through advanced analytics and predictive modelling. Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the analysis of large, complex datasets to derive actionable insights that drive critical business decisions
2. Design and deploy predictive models to optimise trading strategies and refine market forecasting within the gas and power domains
3. Partner closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and deliver high-quality, data-driven solutions
4. Apply the latest advancements in data science and machine learning to enhance trading performance
5. Clearly communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders, supporting strategic decision-making

Requirements:

1. 3+ years of experience in data science, with a strong preference for experience in the gas and power trading industry
2. Strong academic background in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field
3. Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to address complex, high-stakes challenges
4. Proficiency in Python and advanced data science applications
5. Expertise in machine learning algorithms and data visualisation tools
6. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience in cross-functional and fast-paced environments
