Due to exciting expansion within the firm, Cobb Warren is looking for a paralegal/lawyer with experience in housing condition (disrepair) claims.

Responsibilities

  • You will be working alongside the senior lawyers of the firm by assisting them with their caseloads and by undertaking your own case work.
  • You will be expected to provide a friendly and efficient service to our housing association clients.
  • Once you have had relevant training your duties will include:
    • Responding to pre‐action correspondence from solicitors representing our clients' tenants;
    • Advising on liability and, where liability may exist, advise on settlement;
    • Reviewing and advising on Court documents;
    • Assisting with drafting Court documents.
  • You will also assist in the running of our office and be a fundamental and valued part of the team.
  • We work predominantly for social housing providers and aim to be an extension of our clients' teams.
  • We are looking for someone who fits our clients' ethos as well as our own.
  • We are looking for someone who is willing to attend our central Bristol office 2 days per week. The role can be either full-time or part-time.

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Degree level education;
  • An ability to prioritise workload;
  • An ability to pay attention to detail;
  • Experience in either landlord and tenant law or litigation.
  • Previous experience of housing disrepair/condition claims is desirable.
