Our client is currently recruiting for a Management Accountant on a fixed term contract for 15 months. The role is with a leading SME based in West Kent. In the role, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of the management accounts function, contribute to year-end statutory reporting, and play a key part in maintaining robust financial controls.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will take responsibility for:
- Delivery of monthly management accounts and forecasts within tight timeframes
- Preparation of the annual budgets
- Preparation of the year end Statutory Financial Statements and group reporting packs
- First point of contact for the external auditors
- Manage the purchase ledger function
- Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts
- Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and annual R&D claims
- Proactively monitor and review financial controls for breaches and effectiveness
- Produce monthly overhead cost reports, profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and management accounts
- Investigate and report upon variances
- Build excellent working relationships with operational staff to ensure finance issues are resolved quickly and efficiently
- Provide monthly balance sheet back up and reconciliations
You will have:
- Ideally with experience of managing a small team
- Ability to manage and prioritise own workload and work to specific deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and through presentation of written data
- Strong work ethic
- Proactive approach and able to work independently when required
- Full UK driving licence is required as travel to the other sites may be required
