This is a pivotal Financial Controller position, leading the finance function and working closely with the senior leadership team. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the month-end process, delivering timely and accurate management accounts
  • Ensure robust financial controls, compliance with UK GAAP, and statutory reporting
  • Own the audit process and external stakeholder relationships
  • Deliver insightful management reporting, including variance and performance analysis
  • Partner with operational teams to drive improved margins, cost control, and efficiency
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning across the business
  • Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, and production cost monitoring
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital optimisation
  • Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and reporting (including ERP development)
  • Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and improvement
Candidate Profile
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Proven Financial Controller experience within manufacturing, FMCG, or operational environments
  • Strong technical grounding in financial control, reporting, and audit
  • Experience working with ERP systems (Sage 200 advantageous)
  • Advanced Excel and strong analytical capability
  • Ability to translate financial data into meaningful commercial insight
  • Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence senior leadership
  • Experience within food manufacturing or production environments is highly desirable
