A leading Kent employer are looking to appoint a Management Accountant to join their team. Key duties will include preparing and publishing monthly management accounts, analysing business performance and providing explanations for variances to budget, forecast and prior year.
Responsibilities/Tasks:
- Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts
- Maintain balance sheet control for all areas of responsibility through up-to-date balance sheet reconciliations.
- Lead the production, review and analysis of annual budgets and monthly forecasts with all relevant managers.
- Analyse business performance against budget, forecast and prior year on a timely basis, providing insight and challenge to managers to drive improved business results.
- Operate in line with company standards for financial control to safeguard company assets and report any non-compliance.
- To maintain an up-to-date awareness and understanding of applicable UK accounting standards, applying them as required.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified or working towards ACA / CIMA / ACCA or QBE with a proven track record of producing management accounts for submission to senior management
- Communication: competence in challenging and advising business partners and senior management to ensure accurate submission of figures
- Analysis: ability to interrogate systems, analyse data and produce insightful information which can be used to improve business performance
