A growing and evolving business based in Hythe is looking to recruit a Senior Finance Assistant to join its friendly and supportive finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their role and wants more ownership and exposure than a purely transactional finance position can offer. You’ll become a key part of the finance function, supporting the day-to-day running of accounts whilst also getting involved in reporting, reconciliations, month-end processes and continuous improvement projects.
The Role
This is a broad and varied finance role offering exposure across the wider finance function. Working closely with the finance team and wider business, you’ll help maintain accurate financial information, support reporting processes and ensure finance operations run smoothly day to day. The role would suit someone proactive, organised and confident working independently who enjoys taking ownership and being relied upon within a busy team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing purchase and sales ledger activities where required
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting month-end close processes and finance reporting
- Assisting with management accounts preparation
- Processing journals and maintaining accurate financial records
- Supporting cashflow and payment activities
- Investigating discrepancies and resolving queries efficiently
- Producing reports and analysis to support decision making
- Supporting process improvements across the finance function
- Working closely with colleagues across the wider business
About You
- Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Senior Finance Assistant or Assistant Accountant role
- Comfortable working across a broad finance position with varied responsibilities
- Experience supporting month-end and reporting processes
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
- Confident using Excel and finance systems
- Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities
- Positive, team-focused approach with a willingness to support a growing business
