What You’ll Be Doing: As Group Financial Accountant, you will be central to the organisation’s statutory and tax compliance operations. Your role will include:
- Financial Reporting & Audit
- Preparing high-quality Group financial statements
- Supporting and coordinating the external audit process
- Providing accurate and timely financial information to auditors and stakeholders
- Tax Compliance & VAT
- Owning VAT and Corporation Tax compliance across UK and relevant EU jurisdictions
- Preparing and submitting UK & EU VAT returns
- Working closely with external tax advisers on corporation tax matters
- Interpreting and applying tax legislation to ensure the Group remains fully compliant
- Financial Control & Governance
- Reconciling tax balance sheet accounts each month
- Supporting the Group Financial Controller on ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives
- Ensuring all reporting deadlines are met within a fast-moving environment
What You’ll Bring: We’re looking for a candidate who combines technical expertise with a proactive mindset:
- Essential
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with post-qualification experience
- Strong experience in preparing annual statutory accounts
- Advanced Excel user with comfort working with complex datasets
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across finance teams
- Ability to work under pressure and meet fixed reporting deadlines
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
