Our client is looking to hire a Service Charge Accountant on a temporary basis for 6 months initially. Working hours are 9AM - 5PM each day and will require you to come into their London office 4 days per week, offering 1 day working from home. This role will be working closely with 2 other Service Charge Accountants focusing on the reconciliations and budgets for the year-end.
Responsibilities:- Prepare annual service charge statements, ensuring accurate, timely results that align with accounting standards and the RICS code, aiming to deliver statements three months early. Includes managing the service charge audit.
- Perform service charge balance sheet reconciliations, monitoring balances to confirm timely recharges or income recognition, and clearing balances annually.
- Collaborate with Property Managers on detailed annual service charge budgets reflecting operational plans.
- Create monthly service charge reports, reviewing variances and proposing adjustments.
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders to enhance statement accuracy and timely balance management.
- Support the Property Accountant and finance team as needed.
- Experience in Service Charge Accounting for a real estate business is essential.
- Background in Investment Property is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Unit 4 and Horizon is advantageous.
