An established, multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant to join its growing impact assessment team. This role offers the chance to work on a broad mix of major infrastructure and complex development projects across the UK, within a collaborative and technically strong environment. You’ll work closely with planning, engineering and sustainability specialists, supporting clients across the public and private sectors to navigate environmental risks and opportunities.
The Role
You’ll take a leading role in delivering environmental assessments from early feasibility through to consent, combining technical input with project coordination and client engagement. Key elements of the role include:
- Writing environmental reports including EIA screening letters, EIA scoping reports, Environmental Statements, and other environmental reports.
- Reviewing topic reports/inputs for compliance with EIA Regulations and project details.
- Managing environmental assessment workstreams and coordinating technical inputs.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance and quality across project outputs.
- Managing programmes, budgets and consultant teams.
- Advising on mitigation, enhancement and environmental management strategies.
- Supporting bids, proposals and wider team growth.
About You
You’ll be an experienced environmental professional with:
- A relevant environmental degree (postgraduate qualification desirable).
- Professional membership of a recognised institute (chartered status advantageous).
- Strong experience delivering environmental assessments in a consultancy setting.
- Confidence managing projects, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in infrastructure and/or large-scale development projects (desirable).
