An established planning and development consultancy is seeking an Assistant Town Planner to join its growing Strategic Land and Development team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious planner to gain exposure to a wide range of strategic land projects across the UK while developing their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the promotion of strategic land opportunities through the planning system.
  • Assisting with Local Plan representations, Call for Sites submissions and planning appraisals.
  • Undertaking planning policy research and site assessments.
  • Preparing planning statements, reports and supporting documentation.
  • Liaising with clients, local authorities and external consultants.
  • Supporting project delivery across a diverse portfolio of residential, employment and mixed-use schemes.

Requirements:

  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.
  • Previous planning experience within consultancy, local authority or development preferred.
  • Good understanding of the UK planning system and planning policy.
  • Strong communication, analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Exposure to high-profile strategic land and development projects.
