An established, privately owned property business is looking for a highly organised and proactive Property Finance & Operations Assistant to join its small, professional team. The business manages a diverse portfolio of commercial property investments and developments across London and the Thames Valley. This is a varied, hands‑on position combining property accounting, bookkeeping, finance administration and office operations. You will gain exposure to the accounting functions of several property investment and development companies while also helping ensure the smooth day‑to‑day running of the office. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this position would suit someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work and is comfortable working within a small team. For the right candidate, there is scope to develop the role and broaden your skills and responsibilities over time. Part‑Time – 24 hours per week (3–4 days) Location: Richmond-upon-Thames area, South West London.

Job Responsibilities

  • Property Income & Credit Control: Raise rent, service charge and other tenant demands, allocate receipts, manage arrears and respond to tenant account queries.
  • Accounts Payable: Process and code supplier invoices, prepare payments, manage expense claims and ensure appropriate supporting documentation is maintained.
  • Banking & Reconciliations: Complete bank reconciliations across multiple accounts, process receipts and payments, and maintain the daily cashflow tracker.
  • Bookkeeping & Financial Support: Maintain accurate sales and purchase ledgers and assist the Financial Controller with journals, accruals, prepayments, VAT preparation and quarter‑end processes.
  • Service Charges & Utilities: Assist with service charge budgets and reconciliations, raise tenant demands and manage the apportionment and recharging of utilities and other property costs.
  • Charitable Trust Administration: Collate funding requests, liaise with charities and gather the information required to process donations.
  • Office Operations & Administration: Support the smooth day‑to‑day running of the office, including filing, correspondence, suppliers, facilities, office supplies and general administrative support.

Experience Required

  • Previous experience within property, real estate or property management.
  • Experience using property management or accounting software; Propman experience would be advantageous.
