A well-established commercial real estate investment and operating business is looking to appoint a Property Accountant on a 10-month FTC, based in Central London and ideally starting in October.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will sit within the finance team and provide hands-on support across day-to-day property accounting and the wider systems project.
A key part of the role will be supporting a complex service charge reconciliation period ahead of the new Yardi go-live, alongside data cleansing, testing and preparation for the new operating model.
Key Responsibilities
- Support property and lease accounting activity across the portfolio
- Prepare and review rent billing and associated property charges
- Support utility and other property recharge activity
- Complete service charge reconciliations across an extended accounting period
- Assist with service charge budgeting for the new financial year
- Support the migration from the existing finance system to Yardi Voyager
- Assist with data cleansing, validation and testing
- Work closely with the wider Finance team and external implementation partners
- Help identify and resolve accounting and systems issues during the migration
- Support wider property accounting activity where required
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate is likely to have:
- 5+ years’ experience within commercial real estate finance
- Strong property accounting and service charge experience
- Previous experience using Yardi Voyager, ideally Voyager 8, although earlier versions will be considered
- Strong Excel and wider Microsoft 365 capability
- Confidence working across finance systems and data
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive, problem-solving approach
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with internal stakeholders and external providers
Experience with JD Edwards would be advantageous but is not essential.
An accounting qualification or part-qualification would also be beneficial.
