Would you like to further your development in policy planning by consulting on some of the most prestigious schemes in the UK and abroad with the rare opportunity to travel?
I am working closely with a global engineering firm that has a reputation for excellence, who is looking for someone to join from Planner to Associate Planner level.
With a very healthy pipeline of new instructions, you will have the opportunity to advise the New Towns Task Force, local, regional and central government to draft national policy. You will also have the opportunity to deepen your understanding of policy planning by supporting local authorities with their local plan, green belt and climate change assessments. In this role, you will also have the opportunity to add a few strings to your bow with the option to support other departments in development management and infrastructure planning.
This close-knit team have delivered on flagship projects worldwide with a reputation for maintaining standards of excellence.
You will be involved in (among other responsibilities):
- Experience in policy planning for a consultancy or local authority.
- Continuing to maintain relationships with clients in providing accurate advice and communicating effectively
- Dealing with pre-apps and manage planning applications through the development process
- Communicating and negotiating with clients, stakeholders and local regularly
- Business development and working up your own client base, or bringing your own
- Attending meetings for Planning Committee, Consultations and similar events in representation of both the Company and clients through the planning process
- Mentoring and helping to manage junior team members
You will ideally:
- Have a minimum of three years professional experience within planning
- Strong policy planning skillset and expertise
- Be MRTPI or equivalent
- Be a strong communicator with excellent written work
- A track record of working within planning in London or nationwide
