Cobalt are delighted to be partnering with a leading property and real estate organisation seeking to appoint a Service Charge Manager to join a growing and high-performing team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded property professional to take ownership of complex service charge reviews, financial analysis and stakeholder engagement activities across a diverse portfolio of commercial assets. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and transparency of service charge expenditure, identifying areas for optimisation and delivering value-driven outcomes for clients. The position offers exposure to high-profile portfolios, international stakeholders and a broad range of property and asset management projects. This role would suit someone who combines strong analytical capabilities with excellent communication skills and enjoys operating at the intersection of property, finance and commercial decision-making.
The role:
- Lead service charge review and audit activities across a diverse property portfolio
- Analyse service charge budgets, reconciliations and supporting financial documentation
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements and financial recoveries
- Review lease provisions and contractual obligations relating to service charge expenditure
- Engage with landlords, managing agents and stakeholders to resolve queries and disputes
- Prepare detailed reports, recommendations and client presentations
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring high levels of accuracy and service delivery
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders
- Support strategic initiatives and continuous improvement projects across the wider business
- Contribute to business development activities and client growth opportunities
About you:
- Experience within service charge management, property accounting, lease auditing or commercial property management
- Strong understanding of service charge processes and commercial lease structures
- Excellent analytical and financial review capabilities
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commercially aware with a proactive and solution-focused approach
- Ability to manage competing priorities within a fast-paced environment
- Additional European language skills would be advantageous
