Overview
You will lead land referencing for major UK infrastructure schemes and manage a growing team. Based in the national Infrastructure division, you will collaborate across surveyors, legal teams and clients to resolve land issues while driving improvements in digital processes. The role offers flexible/hybrid UK-wide work and exposure to high-profile projects. You will shape land referencing strategy and ensure quality across complex documentation. Responsibilities
- Lead land referencing across CPO, DCO, TWAO and GVD schemes
- Identify ownership, analyse titles, and reconcile land interests
- Prepare and review Books of Reference, land plans, schedules and statutory documents
- Ensure accuracy and consistency across GIS datasets, plans and schedules
- Lead quality assurance, peer reviews and audit readiness
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior Land Referencers
- Collaborate with surveyors, land agents, legal teams and clients on complex land issues
- Support development and improvement of digital land referencing systems and processes
Key requirements
- An established Land Referencing Manager or Senior Land Referencer with line management experience
- Proven experience across CPO, DCO, TWAO and/or GVD schemes
- Understanding of relevant legislation and GIS-supported workflows
- Strong technical knowledge of land referencing and statutory documentation
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working across multidisciplinary teams and managing client relationships
