Cobalt is working with a rapidly growing international real estate investment platform to appoint an Interim Financial Accountant on an initial 6-month contract. The business has expanded its UK presence following recent acquisitions and is looking to strengthen the finance team with a detail-oriented, part-qualified accountant who can support financial reporting, compliance and audit preparation. This role would suit someone coming from practice at junior / semi-senior level, or someone in industry with strong financial reporting exposure who is keen to develop within a fast-growing international real estate platform.
The role involves reporting into the UK finance leadership team and will support compliance, financial reporting and year-end preparation across the UK platform. It will involve working with financial information across systems including Yardi, Excel-based support files and Workiva, so strong Excel skills and attention to detail will be important.
Key responsibilities:- Support preparation of statutory accounts and financial reporting deliverables
- Assist with building audit packs ahead of year-end
- Input and maintain accurate financial information within reporting systems
- Support compliance and reporting requirements across UK entities
- Work with auditors and internal finance stakeholders to resolve queries
- Help improve reporting processes, automation and system workflows
- Support Excel-based reporting files and data preparation
- Assist with UK / US GAAP reporting requirements where relevant
- Support tax-related information gathering where required
- Ensure reporting is accurate, detailed and audit-ready
- Part-qualified accountant or junior / semi-senior practice background
- Experience with statutory accounts preparation or financial reporting
- Strong attention to detail and good Excel skills
- Exposure to audit processes and audit file preparation
- Property, leasing or real estate experience beneficial
- UK / US GAAP exposure beneficial
- Yardi experience beneficial but not essential
- Tax exposure beneficial but not essential
- Proactive, organised and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment
- 6-month contract
- Day rate: £200–£250 per day inside IR35 FTC equivalent also considered
- 5 days per week in the Central London office
- Potential to become permanent for the right long-term fit
