Overview
In this Fund Accountant role, you will manage accounting for a portfolio of alternative investment funds, including private equity, private credit, and real estate structures. You will work within the London Fund Accounting team to deliver accurate financial reporting and timely client service. You will develop technical knowledge, take on greater portfolio responsibility, and contribute to process improvements. This is an opportunity to grow into a broader remit while supporting auditors, tax advisers, and investors in a client-facing setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accounting records for a portfolio of alternative investment funds
- Run bank and general ledger reconciliations
- Produce periodic management accounts
- Prepare quarterly investor reporting
- Assist in preparing audited and unaudited annual accounts
- Prepare fund drawdown and distribution notices
- Support treasury and liquidity reporting
- Assist with bridging facility management and compliance reporting
- Respond to investor queries and support investor relations
- Provide information to tax advisers for VAT and corporate tax returns
- Review transactions prepared by junior team members
- Coordinate with auditors, tax advisers, lawyers and external service providers
- Support and train junior colleagues as experience develops
- Manage workloads to meet client and reporting deadlines
- Contribute to projects improving processes, policies and procedures
- Take increasing responsibility for daily accounting and delivery of allocated portfolios
Key requirements
- Previous fund accounting or accounting-led fund administration experience
- Exposure to private equity, private credit/debt, real estate funds or other alternative investment structures
- Experience preparing reconciliations, management accounts and/or fund reporting
- Understanding of fund structures and underlying accounting requirements
- Progress towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Knowledge of technical accounting (FRS 102) would be beneficial
- Experience with Allvue, Investran or eFront would be advantageous but not essential
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines
