A leading property group is looking to appoint an analyst within its occupier-focused audit function. The team supports corporate clients with lease audit, service charge review, cost recovery and landlord negotiation across UK and international portfolios.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will join the Lease Audit team and be responsible for conducting lease audits for corporate clients, identifying potential savings, negotiating with landlords and supporting the recovery of overcharges or cost avoidance opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit and reconcile financial lease-related charges including service charge, insurance recharges, base rent, turnover rent, works deposits and capital allowances.
- Review lease documentation and troubleshoot/dispute issues through interpretation of lease language.
- Prepare individual lease audit reports in line with client scope and requirements.
- Communicate and negotiate with landlords to enforce compliance with lease obligations.
- Work with client legal teams to interpret lease clauses and ensure landlord/tenant compliance.
- Coordinate and lead recurring lease audit status meetings with clients and account teams.
- Supervise third-party auditors on lease audit projects where required.
- Manage and prepare client reporting, including audit savings and cost avoidance reports.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to deliver audit outcomes.
- Support lease audit activity across the UK, Europe and wider international markets, using local expertise where required.
Business Development & Client Management
- Support client solutioning, presentations and pitches.
- Assist with client contracting discussions alongside legal and senior leadership teams.
Business Management
- Support the setup and development of lease audit services across UK, EMEA, APAC and LATAM regions.
- Assist with training and knowledge sharing across the team, particularly with new joiners.
- Undertake project work focused on process improvement, re-engineering and efficiency.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of lease terminology and the ability to interpret lease provisions and legal documents.
- Understanding of the end-to-end service charge process and RICS guidelines.
- Knowledge of real estate transactions.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to draft professional correspondence to landlords.
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder and relationship management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines.
- Proactive, self-starting and comfortable making informed decisions.
- Additional language skills, particularly French, Spanish or German, would be beneficial.
- Property or lease auditing experience across EMEA, APAC or LATAM would be advantageous.
