Cobalt are pleased to be partnering with a well-established, multi-disciplinary property consultancy seeking a Chartered Surveyor to join and help grow its Commercial Agency team. This is a client-facing role suited to an experienced commercial agent, rather than a purely general practice surveyor. Based in the Midlands, the business advises a broad client base across agency, valuation, development and consultancy, offering the opportunity to work on varied and high-quality commercial instructions.
The Role
You will play a key role within the commercial agency function, acting as a trusted advisor to landlords, occupiers and investors, while supporting junior team members and working closely with the Head of Commercial Agency. Responsibilities will include:
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with property owners, occupiers and investors
- Leading sales, lettings and acquisition instructions across commercial property sectors
- Developing and implementing marketing strategies for commercial properties
- Preparing market appraisals and valuations in line with RICS standards
- Providing market insight on rental values, investment trends and opportunities
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal procedures
- Actively networking and generating new business opportunities
About You
- RICS qualified (MRICS), ideally with circa 4–8 years’ PQE
- Strong background in commercial agency (sales & lettings focus essential)
- Confident negotiator with proven client relationship management skills
- Commercially minded with the ability to win new instructions independently
- Organised, proactive and comfortable working with autonomy
- Keen to mentor and support junior surveyors
