Our client is a leading listed Build-to-Rent operator with a rapidly expanding UK residential portfolio. Backed by institutional capital and focused on delivering high-quality rental communities, the business has established itself as a major player within the UK living sector. Due to continued growth and increasing portfolio complexity, they are seeking a commercially minded Commercial Finance Manager to join their London-based finance team.
Reporting into the Head of Finance, the Commercial Finance Manager will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making across the business. This position combines financial analysis, business partnering, forecasting, and operational insight to drive performance across the portfolio and corporate functions. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders across operations, asset management, development, and executive leadership, providing robust financial information and commercial recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term business planning processes
- Deliver insightful financial analysis on portfolio performance, occupancy, rental growth, and operational KPIs
- Partner with operational and asset management teams to support commercial decision-making
- Prepare board-level reporting packs and management presentations
- Support investment appraisals, scenario modelling, and business cases for new developments and acquisitions
- Monitor cash flow, margins, and cost performance across the portfolio
- Drive process improvements and enhance financial reporting capabilities
- Assist with investor reporting and support requirements of a listed environment
- Provide ad hoc analysis and strategic support to senior leadership
Candidate Profile
- Chartered Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA equivalent)
- 2β3 years post-qualified experience (PQE)
- Experience within real estate, property, Build-to-Rent, hospitality, infrastructure, or a similarly asset-intensive sector preferred
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical and modelling skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
- Experience working within a listed or regulated environment is advantageous
- Proactive, ambitious, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced growth business
