We are seeking a Building Manager to take responsibility for a sizeable multi-let commercial office asset in Manchester. Reporting to a Senior Facilities Manager, the Building Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of the building, ensuring excellent service delivery, strong occupier engagement and full compliance across all aspects of facilities management. This Building Manager position offers broad exposure across operational management, stakeholder engagement, service charge administration, sustainability initiatives and contractor management, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their career within commercial property.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day operation of a multi-let commercial office building.
  • Building strong relationships with occupiers, clients and service partners.
  • Managing contractors and suppliers to ensure service delivery standards are achieved.
  • Overseeing health, safety and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Monitoring planned preventative maintenance programmes and planned works.
  • Managing service charge expenditure and supporting budget control.
  • Leading occupier engagement and customer experience initiatives.
  • Supporting sustainability objectives and environmental performance improvements.
  • Conducting regular property inspections and maintaining operational standards.
  • Preparing reports and providing updates to key stakeholders.

We are keen to speak with Building Manager candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Working knowledge of facilities management within a commercial property environment.
  • Ability to set, manage and reconcile service charge budgets and financial management.
  • Working knowledge of contractor and supplier management.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management and customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • IOSH qualification.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services.

The following would be advantageous:

  • NEBOSH qualification.
  • IWFM qualification.
  • Experience working within a multi-let commercial environment.
