An established planning and design consultancy is seeking an Associate Director to lead and deliver a range of complex, high-impact planning projects across the UK. This is a chance to shape sensitive rural and mixed-use developments, working collaboratively with in-house design, landscape, and development specialists. You’ll play a key role in guiding strategy, mentoring talented planners, and supporting the continued growth of a respected and forward-thinking practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage diverse planning projects, ensuring quality, innovation, and timely delivery
  • Provide strategic planning advice across residential, commercial, leisure, and rural sectors
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear, confident communication
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to long-term company growth

What You’ll Bring

  • 7+ years’ post-qualification experience in planning, ideally with leadership or management responsibility
  • MRTPI accreditation (or equivalent professional qualification)

  • Proven ability to deliver complex projects with sensitivity and commercial awareness
  • Excellent interpersonal, client engagement, and presentation skills
