I am working with a modern and cutting edge property company with a new approach to Business Rates. They are seizing on the brilliant branding they have created, to deliver a superb service to their diverse client-list.

Business Rates forms a key part of their business approach, and so they are looking at two growth hires:

  • 1x Associate Director, targeting an established Business Rates expert
  • 1x Business Rates Surveyor – which could be an existing Surveyor, or an Administrator looking to step up.

Both hires will report directly to the Head of Business Rates - receiving excellent support, and mentorship from an industry expert.

The key duties will clearly vary for each role, but overall comprise:

  • Manage the CCA process internally, submitting appeals, and helping to build cases via the CCA process and councils.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all appeal cases and client interactions.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, inspections, and surveys.
  • Assist in the preparation of client reports, presentations, and other materials.
  • Handle correspondence and communication with clients, councils, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure timely completion of all administrative tasks.
  • Build strong relationships with the Council’s and Valuation Office.
  • Provide client reports and forecasting as requested.
  • Keep abreast of changing case law.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a rating advisory firm.
  • For Associate Director, likely MRICS qualified.
  • For Surveyor, we are interested in multiple backgrounds including Ratings Admins & Assistants, but also established Ratings Surveyors.
  • Track record of managing CCA work and winning appeals.
  • Able to navigate the reliefs schemes with the local authorities.
