Job Description

An exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take a senior position within an impact and planning team, managing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and related environmental planning projects. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality advice, managing multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage environmental planning projects, from feasibility through to completion
  • Oversee the preparation and review of EIAs, Screening and Scoping Requests, and related technical reports
  • Provide strategic advice on environmental planning matters, including TCPA and DCO schemes
  • Manage workloads, budgets, and resourcing for a small team
  • Liaise with clients, statutory consultees, local authorities, and community stakeholders
  • Contribute to business development, including tenders, proposals, and marketing activities
  • Maintain awareness of emerging environmental and planning legislation and best practice
  • Support team growth, mentoring, and professional development

Key Requirements

  • 6+ years’ post-qualification experience in consultancy or public sector
  • Degree or master’s in environmental planning, policy, development, or a related subject
  • Strong working knowledge of EIA regulations and UK planning/environmental legislation
  • Confident project manager with experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Commercially aware, with an interest in business development
  • Ideally full membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IEMA, RTPI, CIEEM)
