We’re thrilled to be partnering with one of the UK’s most active and ambitious residential-led developers as they look to bring on board several Assistant Development Managers . With a pipeline spanning the South West and Southern England, this is your chance to be involved in delivering impactful schemes ranging from 100 to 1,000+ units.

Whether your background is in development or planning , this company thrives on hiring individuals who are highly numerate, commercially aware, and passionate about placemaking and the broader property and political landscape. You’ll play a vital role in supporting or driving forward complex, large-scale projects—often in partnership with JV collaborators—and collaborating closely with Land and Construction teams throughout the development lifecycle.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Evaluating potential sites for development in tandem with the Land team, assessing both planning and viability prospects.
  • Managing pre-application submissions and full planning applications with the support of external planning consultants.
  • Conducting due diligence, feasibility reviews, and full development appraisals to assess commercial viability.
  • Coordinating with internal departments and overseeing a wide range of external consultants.
  • Negotiating Section 106 agreements and working on the discharge of planning conditions and RMAs.
  • Representing the company at Planning Committees, public consultations, and stakeholder meetings throughout the planning journey.

What You’ll Bring

  • A degree in Development or Town Planning (preferably RTPI or RICS accredited).
  • Previous experience in a consultancy, developer, or housing association setting.
  • Strong communication skills, a sharp analytical mindset, and a team-focused attitude.
  • Motivation, resilience, and a genuine desire to immerse yourself in every stage of the development process.
