Cobalt Housing is a registered housing association based in North Liverpool. Established in 2003 following the transfer of homes from Liverpool City Council, Cobalt manages and maintains around 6,000 affordable homes across Fazakerley & Sparrow Hall, Croxteth and Norris Green. As the majority landlord in the area, Cobalt plays a leading role in supporting neighbourhoods and driving economic and community regeneration. By providing quality homes and tailored support, the organisation is committed to creating thriving communities where people are proud to live and able to reach their full potential.
Cobalt Housing is now seeking to appoint three Non-Executive Directors as part of its ongoing succession planning. These appointments come at an important stage in Cobalt’s journey, as the organisation prepares to deliver its next phase of growth and strategic development. We are looking for individuals who can bring strategic oversight, independent challenge and sector insight. You will support the Board in ensuring Cobalt continues to deliver sustainable, high-quality services for its customers and communities.
Cobalt is committed to building a diverse and effective Board. We particularly welcome applications from individuals with lived experience of social housing or a strong customer perspective, as well as those from under-represented groups.
We are seeking expertise in the following areas:
- Finance
- Senior executive or leadership experience, ideally within the social housing sector
- Strong financial acumen with broad organisational exposure
- Experience of, or exposure to, development and growth strategies
- Ability to provide strategic oversight and constructive challenge at Board level
- First-time Non-Executive Directors are encouraged to apply, with demonstrable experience of working with or reporting to Boards
- IT/Digital Transformation
- Senior leadership experience within social housing
- Proven experience leading change and digital transformation programmes
- Experience implementing or transforming systems (e.g. ActiveH, Dynamics, Salesforce or similar)
- Aware of emerging areas such as AI and cyber security
- Ability to support Cobalt through the next phase of its digital evolution
- Legal/Procurement
- Expertise in legal and/or procurement, ideally within a regulated or public sector environment
- Experience in strengthening supply chain resilience and contract management
- Strong focus on achieving value for money
- Ability to provide strategic legal insight and challenge, complementing an outsourced legal function
